Blog vs. Wiki

With the new innovations of technology and growth of internet, new social media progresses and Blogs and Wikis play a big role in it now. Although Blogs are different from Wikis, still they serve one role, they help people and companies to communicate, advertise, tell the news and provide different type of useful information to others.
The main difference between Wikis and Blogs, is that Wikis are used more for sharing information. People write bibliographies, history events, post information about companies, work on projects, etc. And the best of Wiki is that everyone can update it, correct it, create your own pages, and write something new that hasn't been written before. As stated in the article "More On How To Build Your Own Wikipedia" By Margaret Locher,  "Wikis are now used broadly throughout EMC to store documents, create logs and encourage discussions," "There are hundreds of communities used for project management and team-building."
Blogs, on the other hand, are more person oriented, they are more about person's opinion. People can post their opinions, and write what has happened to them during the day, others can post some information about their job experience or the company, and get good or bad feedback from others. As was stated by Nick Agarwal, a Wal-Mart communications official who helped develop the blog, in article "Wal-Mart Tastemakers Write Unfiltered Blog" by Michael Barbaro,“It puts real personality out there in a real conversation.”
