Creativity

New media allows everyone to be creative and to make it be seen by anyone. Also new media helps big companies to grow and develop by watching people's creativity. In the article "Twitter Serves Up Ideas From Its Followers" by CLAIRE CAIN MILLER, creators of the Twitter, by watching how people use it and by taking their idea into concern, progressed from 140 character messages to company that allows millions of people to communicate. Like said Eric von Hippel, head of the innovation and entrepreneurship group at the Sloan School of Management at M.I.T. and author of the book “Democratizing Innovation.”
“Twitter’s smart enough, or lucky enough, to say, ‘Gee, let’s not try to compete with our users in designing this stuff, let’s outsource design to them,’ ”“Twitter’s smart enough, or lucky enough, to say, ‘Gee, let’s not try to compete with our users in designing this stuff, let’s outsource design to them,’ ” It allowed twitter users to be creative, and this creativity helped the company grow.

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual world is just like a second life. It can be used for work, by creating a room that looks like a meeting room, attendants can log in without going there and not spending extra time, it also can be used for people's conversations among each other because it is easier to say something online than in real world. Like was stated in the article "At Hearing, Real and Virtual Worlds Collide" "They should really move the x and the c away from each other on the keyboard." (This following a warning that the video might freeze for "just a sex."). People recreate hotels, rooms, places, virtual world foster creativity by giving people a chance to create their world the way they want it to see. For example, in the article "In Room 100, It’s Sid and Nancy All Over Again" by By SAKI KNAFO Mr. Brown created a copy of the hotel as he stated : “The rest of this hotel is as close to real life as I could make it.” but Mykal wanted to be creative and left the crime scene “They didn’t want it to become a shrine,” Mykal said, “but I decided to leave it as a crime scene.”
Pros in virtual world are that people can freely chat among each other, and create the world in which they can live without thinking about any problems because its their ideal dream world, on the other hand, it is way too addictive, and people may forget that they have problems to solve and things to do in the real world. In addition, they may chat with the person, and did not recognize that this person is lying to them, because it doesn't show their face expression. I think that future worlds will be more advanced and will look like more realistic.

Blog about Twitter

For me personally, Twitter discussions are more confusing, maybe its because I'm new to it, but maybe it it because I didn't wanted to look for school work between personal messages. In my opinion, BlackBoard discussion is much better than Twitter, because it is a separate page which only classmates can see and add information, and everything what is been there, it is only about the school subject. Moreover, it might not be comfortable for a student, who twitted about something very personal with a friend, let professor see it same for professor reading it.

Social Networking Sites

I'm not an online person, but most of the time when I go online, I check Facebook.com . I like it, and I have a lot of friends on it. I would like to see what my friends are up to and comment on their posts and talk to them. I also have been signed in to vkontakte.ru , it is very similar to Facebook, the page even set up similarly with white and blue colors. The only difference is that there everything is in Russian, and only Russian and Ukrainian people are using it. i have all of my friends from Ukraine there, and It is easy to find someone from my family if I want, because comparable to not that many people are using it.Similarly, I registered to twitter.com , I'm new to it, but most of the time I would use it just ti see what celebrities have written, and maybe some time to post on my status, I was surprised that the page of Twitter doesn't look like and doesn't work like Facebook. And lastly, I just registered to Myspace.com, and I like it so far the most, even though I don't have many friends there. I find it great by having news about everything such new clips that came out, new lottery for concert tickets, news about celebrities, and many other useful information.

Social networking

Social networking is the great thing that has ever happened. It is beneficial to people who live abroad from their families, they can freely communicate between each other, for businesses, they can introduce their products online, and for everyone else who wants to communicate with others. Also, networking helps employers to communicate with their employees, or to find employees. As was stated in the article "Social Networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting" by Frank Lanfitt, the web site Linkedin helped Crawford-Hentz to find his employee LaSpina. As he said: "I was very impressed by that, that someone reached out to me, so to speak, with a position and looked at my background and realized there might be a fit here"
But there are negative side to the social networking, it's rules are confusing and personal pages are open to everyone. Everyone can see one's profile, and see his/hers picture, copy it, and show it to others as it happened to Randi Zuckerberg. In the article "Facebook Privacy Is So Confusing Even the Zuckerberg Family Photo Isn't Private" by Rebecca Greenfield was stated: "Randi has indicated that she only wants her friends to see photos that she has posted. But the way Facebook works, friends of your friends tagged in a photo album also see the entire roll, unless you choose otherwise in the settings of the album posted."
In my opinion, soon the regulation by the law will be there, and simple and clear rules will be posted to owners of web sites such Facebook or Twitter, so there's no confusion.

Blog vs. Wiki

With the new innovations of technology and growth of internet, new social media progresses and Blogs and Wikis play a big role in it now. Although Blogs are different from Wikis, still they serve one role, they help people and companies to communicate, advertise, tell the news and provide different type of useful information to others.
The main difference between Wikis and Blogs, is that Wikis are used more for sharing information. People write bibliographies, history events, post information about companies, work on projects, etc. And the best of Wiki is that everyone can update it, correct it, create your own pages, and write something new that hasn't been written before. As stated in the article "More On How To Build Your Own Wikipedia" By Margaret Locher,  "Wikis are now used broadly throughout EMC to store documents, create logs and encourage discussions," "There are hundreds of communities used for project management and team-building."
Blogs, on the other hand, are more person oriented, they are more about person's opinion. People can post their opinions, and write what has happened to them during the day, others can post some information about their job experience or the company, and get good or bad feedback from others. As was stated by Nick Agarwal, a Wal-Mart communications official who helped develop the blog, in article "Wal-Mart Tastemakers Write Unfiltered Blog" by Michael Barbaro,“It puts real personality out there in a real conversation.”
